As we get older, our skin starts to lose elasticity and texture, leading to loose skin and wrinkles.

Plasma Skin Tightening is the only non-surgical skin tightening treatment to use plasma to eliminate excess skin and rejuvenate the face, neck or body. It is known for its success with non-surgical eye/facelift, wrinkle reduction, tummy skin tightening and more for people of any age and gender.

This innovate and highly effective procedure is often described as ‘soft surgery’ because of the results it delivers without having to undergo surgery and the risks involved with surgical procedures. The Plasma Skin Tightening treatment can also assist with increasing collagen formation on the area being treated resulting in a plumper and more youthful looking appearance.

The Plasma Skin Tightening treatment can be a much better alternative to Botox and synthetic fillers for those who would prefer to avoid toxins and chemicals as well as the maintenance and upkeep. This procedure is performed without any knives, stitches, injections or bruising and is considered a safer alternative to surgery and laser with no or minimal downtime.

How does the Plasma Skin Tightening treatment work?

The extremely accurate Plasma Elite Device is held approximately 1mm away from the surface of the skin and then produces a tiny plasma flash which leaps from the tip of the device to the skin in a micro-sized point. The flash created instantly shrinks the targeted skin. A series of tiny brown dots are strategically placed to attain the desired result. The skin around the spot tightens instantly, pulling the cells closer together. The results are comparable to that of invasive surgery.

Is the Plasma Skin Tightening treatment safe?

This non-surgical procedure is very safe. It has a very minimal amount of possible side effects and serious complications. There is no damage to surrounding areas or deeper skin layers. Majority of clients are likely to experience some minor side effects, mainly mild swelling, redness and tiny scab formations for 7-10 days after treatment.

How long does it last? When will I see results?

The positive effect of the Plasma Skin Tightening treatment will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment and results shall continue to improve over the following 4 weeks after treatment.

Sometimes redness and swelling can occur which can distort the results, but you will be able to see special results right away. You will notice more firmness and tightening of the treated areas as the skin continues to heal and produce more collagen (sometimes even 3-6 months down the line!)

For some, an additional treatment may be required after this period for maximum results. Additionally, there are lifestyle factors that can prevent the results from lasting as long as they can, such as smoking, alcohol consumption and prolonged sun exposure.

Typically results should last 3 -5 years with a top up treatment recommended at 12-18 months.

Is a consultation required?

Yes, it is highly recommended that a consultation be conducted prior to the treatment. During the consultation we will assess the area to be treated and suggest a treatment plan. Every client is different and the way the skin ages varies for each individual. We like our clients to be fully informed to meet expectations.

What after-effects can be expected?

The Plasma Skin Tightening treatments are very safe. On rare occasions, hyper-sensitivity or allergic reactions to anaesthetic may occur (patch-testing is conducted at the consultation). Other problems may include: – wound healing problems, skin infections, scarring, light swelling in the immediate area, redness and tingling.

On treatment day it is recommended that no make-up be worn on or around the treatment area. Anti-histamines taken 60 minutes prior to treatment may assist with swelling. A numbing cream is applied 30 minutes prior to treatment. When the treatment area is numb, the treatment begins. Some heat may be felt in the treatment area, which may feel a little uncomfortable and slightly irritating. Treatment time varies from 10 – 60 minutes depending on the size of the area.

Immediately after the procedure the treatment area will be red and mildly swollen. This may last 1-3 days. The small carbon dots created on the skin will dry out to become small crusts. These crusts must not under any circumstances be picked or scratched off, they must fall off on their own which can take anything from 5 – 14 days. The dots may be covered with the recommended foundation.

Healing will continue for about 2 weeks therefore treatment is best undertaken 1-2 months before any special occasion or done afterwards. Results are seen instantly after treatment, although this gradually improves over the course of the following 4 weeks. Following treatment, thorough aftercare instructions are provided to ensure best healing and best results.

The area must not be exfoliated or cleansed with harsh products. Recommendations are provided after the treatment. It is usually safe to drive and resume regular activities right away with minimal discomfort. Daily use of an SPF is a must over the treatment area for at least 3 months to avoid possibility of hyper-pigmentation (darkening of the skin).
